About Amboseli National Park

Located about 250 km south of Nairobi, Amboseli is famous for its large herds of free-ranging elephants, diverse birdlife, and unbeatable views of Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania.

Amboseli covers 392 sq km of wetlands, savannah, and acacia woodland — making it a compact park ideal for 2–3 day safaris.

Detailed 3-Day Amboseli Safari Itinerary

Day 1 – Nairobi → Amboseli National Park
  • Pick-up: 6:30 AM from your hotel or airport.

  • Drive via Emali – Loitoktok road, arriving around mid-morning.

  • Enjoy a scenic stop for views of local Maasai villages and markets.

  • Check-in to your lodge and enjoy lunch overlooking the plains.

  • Afternoon game drive: Spot elephants, lions, and gazelles against the glowing Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop.

  • Dinner & Overnight: Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge / AA Lodge / Kibo Safari Camp (depending on package).

Tip: Have your camera ready for elephants at sunset — it’s a photographer’s dream shot.

Day 2 – Full Day in Amboseli
  • Early morning game drive at sunrise — the best time for clear mountain views.

  • Return for breakfast at the lodge.

  • Mid-morning visit to Observation Hill for panoramic views of the park’s wetlands and herds below.

  • Optional: Cultural visit to a Maasai village to learn about traditional life.

  • Lunch & relaxation at the lodge pool.
